Focusing On IP At ISC West

Welcome to the first ISC West preview e-newsletter from Network-Centric Security. As the drumbeat of convergence continues to take hold in the industry, we felt it was important to create a separate forum to focus on the IP-centric news and information coming from one of the biggest and most important tradeshows for security.

Just like our sister publication, Security Products, we’ll will be producing five e-newsletters dedicated to the news coming from Las Vegas. You’ll be receiving newsletters straight from the show floor next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. A wrapup of the show will hit your inbox the last week in April.

Along with providing some of the important news coming from the conference, I’ll be shooting numerous videos with Security Prodcucts’ editor-in-chief Ralph Jensen. He’ll be talking with various companies -- including ADT, Axis Communications, VideoIQ, Next Level Security, ComNet and Digital Watchdog -- about the newest and most exciting products released at the show. You can find those videos on the Network-Centric Security Web site and in the show e-newsletters.

And as social networking continues to gain popularity in the industry, I plan on using Twitter extensively to give my followers up-to-date information on what is making news at the show. You can find me on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/BrentDirks. I’ll start tweeting Tuesday afternoon during a behind-the-scenes tour of the security and surveillance technology at the new CityCenter megaresort in Las Vegas.

My schedule is full of appointments and other events. But if you get a chance during the show, stop me and say hi for a second. I enjoy meeting as many people as possible and learning more about the world of IP security. Even if you’re not going to the show, feel free to e-mail me at bdirks@1105media.com with any show announcements or news. And make sure to keep an eye out for the newsletters from Las Vegas starting next week.
