Focus-Free Technology

I hate heights -- I wouldn’t be very good at installing cameras on high ceilings or poles.
Here’s something that caught my attention, in lieu of climbing a pole. Speco Technologies has introduced SIP series of IP cameras, producing crystal clear images from inches to infinity without refocusing. The best part, it makes the installer’s job easier.
The camera is intended for all the places you would never catch me -- high ceilings, poles and similar applications overhead. It comes with generous add ons, such as standard resolution with intensifier technology and a 1.3 megapixel version, with H.264/MPEG/MPEG4 compression.
Here’s another cool tidbit:
Infinova Argentina has donated megapixel cameras, along with other security equipment and software, to be used in a new university program in Rosario that include video surveillance in its IT program.
This isn’t your regular professor in a stuffy suit kind of class. Infinova also will provide technical expertise with a technical manager serving as the professor for the classes.
There’s a lot of people going a lot of the right things in this industry, helping young people become more prepared for every day tasks, and strengthening links with the private sector for job placement.
