Honeywell Offers Web Browser Enhancements to Its Remote-Managed Access Control Software

Honeywell’s WIN-PAK CS 4.1 managed access control software includes Web browser enhancements such as remote locking and unlocking, schedule creation and editing and improved reporting capabilities. The new features also allow the flexibility for a complete dealer-hosted remote management model or an end user-managed solution using the enhanced Web browser.

The software upgrades complement the company’s Managed Access Control dealer program by helping dealers increase customer retention and capture additional recurring monthly revenue through services such as report scheduling, alarm and event notification via e-mail, and remote access via a web browser. It allows a dealer to reduce the initial bid cost by up to 25 percent by rolling all or a portion of the equipment and installation costs into the monthly service charge.

Dealers can more easily manage assigning various levels of access to different accounts and customers. The operator permissions feature allows dealers to identify who can access various web browser functions, and dealers can also offer their customers the ability to access multiple sites, with as many features as the user needs.

“While the upfront costs for hardware and installation are the same between a traditional system and a managed system, most end users don’t realize they are spending thousands of dollars annually above and beyond their initial system price,” said John Smith, senior marketing manager, Honeywell. “Additional costs are reflected in IT support, updating operating systems, software updates, virus protection, PC upgrades and training.”

Additionally, when combined with the company’s latest NetAXS-123 modular control panel, WIN-PAK CS 4.1 provides a low-cost hardware panel option for one, two or three doors that can be easily managed remotely at a dealer’s facility. This approach can help dealers win more bids by effectively driving the per-door cost down and decreasing the time it takes to install a panel.
