Xe Services Names Ted Wright as New CEO

USTC Holdings LLC, the investor consortium that acquired Xe Services LLC, including its main holding U.S. Training Center Inc. in December 2010, announced that KBR Business Unit President for North American Government and Defense Ted Wright will be joining the company as chief executive officer of Xe Services, effective June 13.

“I’m honored to have been selected to help Xe navigate its next phase of development and growth,” Wright said in a statement. “I respect the company’s mission and have great faith in what we can accomplish. I look forward to helping Xe develop the best leadership, governance and performance platforms in the industry.”

Wright, who will report directly to the board of directors, spent 30 years in the U.S. Air Force in active and reserve duty, has a strong history of defense contracting experience and has been selected to lead the company through its newest chapter of growth, which commenced earlier this year with the formation of an independent board, leadership and governance team.

“We are quite fortunate to have Ted join our team and lead our company during a transition period of ownership and management,” said Red McCombs, chairman of the board. “Ted will play a pivotal role in exceeding our goals of becoming the most effective service unit in a vital industry that serves and protects our country. Lofty goals require special talents, and we are confident that Ted is the right leader for this mission.”

Upon acquiring Xe and its core operating businesses last year, USTC Holdings highlighted its commitment to rebuild the company by identifying highly experienced and respected leadership capable of instilling world-class governance, leadership, performance and transparency standards.

Before becoming KBR business unit president for North American government and defense, Wright was president of technology services and solutions at BAE Systems, where he also held a number of roles at the vice-president level. Previously, Wright also held vice president positions in business development and general management at ITT Industries. He holds a B.A. in biophysical sciences from the University of Northern Colorado and a masters of engineering in space systems engineering from the University of Colorado.

The announcement comes on the heels of the selection of former Attorney General John Ashcroft and retired Navy Admiral Bobby R. Inman as independent directors and Red McCombs as chairman of the board of Xe.

Xe is a provider of training and security services focused on worldwide operations in support of the United States government and other customers.
