DCH Regional Medical Center Selects AMAG Technology Symmetry SR Controller Retrofit Solution

DCH Regional Medical Center Selects AMAG Technology Symmetry SR Controller Retrofit SolutionThe DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama selected AMAG Technology’s Symmetry SR Controller retrofit solution to replace its current Casi Rusco security system that had reached the end of its life and was no longer supported by the manufacturer.

The Symmetry SR Controller, used as a retrofit solution, allows users to easily and cost-effectively upgrade their current end–of-life security system to Symmetry and keep their existing infrastructure intact. The unique design of the SR Controller permits users to reuse existing hardware such as readers, enclosures and wiring.  This one-of-a-kind approach allows customers to save the enormous cost of installing new equipment or retrofitting with other more complicated solutions.  The SR Controllers provide a cost-effective, low-risk solution to upgrade aging, unsupported technology to modern standards while protecting investments and minimizing costs.

AMAG Technology is a security management solution provider that specializes in converged access control, IP video and intrusion management solutions for the commercial and government markets.

“DCH Hospital was able to maintain its existing infrastructure investment and install a state-of-the-art security management system for a fraction of what a complete rip out and replacement system would have cost,” said AMAG Technology, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Matt Barnette.  “Gorrie-Regan recognized the benefits of the Symmetry SR Controller retrofit solution, suggested it to the hospital and they jumped at the chance to upgrade to Symmetry while saving money.”

The Symmetry SR Controllers offer the latest in access control hardware technology in a form factor that allows seamless installation into retrofit solutions. Utilizing pluggable backplane architecture, the SR series provides a high-density solution in a compact enclosure. This form factor is ideal for upgrading legacy equipment to a state-of-the art solution.

Installing integrator, Gorrie-Regan, has worked closely with DCH Hospital for many years, and was the natural choice to install this upgrade.

“We are happy to offer DCH Hospital AMAG’s Symmetry Retrofit solution and provide a cost-effective path for upgrade mobility without having to completely rip out their end-of-life security system and start over,” said Gorrie-Regan’s, Director of Security Sales, Scott Wilson.  “The hospital will be converted quickly without downtime, saving money and able to utilize the advantages of Symmetry’s robust feature set.”

The upgrade is expected to be completed this summer.
