Make Untraceable Semiautomatic Rifles in Your Home

Libertarian Cody Wilson, the master-mind behind the world’s first 3D-printed gun, has upped the ante once again with his all-in-one desktop CNC mill, known as the Ghost Gunner. In just a couple of hours, this machine can pop out an aluminum lower receiver of an AR-15 rifle, the civilian version of the military’s M-16 assault rifle. Oh, and I must add, each is produced without a serial number, background check or waiting period, all in the comfort of one’s humble abode.

The lower receiver is the part that connects the stock, barrel, magazine and other parts of the gun together. It is considered to be a firearm under U.S. law and the sale of it is highly regulated. However, with the Ghost Gunner programmed to take a partially completed one and automatically mill it into a functioning part, just purchase the other gun components online, assemble the rifle, aim and fire.

With the tagline, “On day one, Ghost Gunner can help you legally manufacture unserialized firearms in the comfort of your own home,” Wilson sold out his original 175 Ghost Gunner units in just one day and the next day, 100 pre-order units were sold. This means that at least 275 Ghost Gunner units are meant to be shipped in the coming days. Is anyone worried about this from a security standpoint?
