Live From GSX 2021 Roundup

This year’s Live From GSX was a huge hit thanks to the support of our sponsors: NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc.; OnSolve; and Salient Systems. All three companies brought their most innovative solutions—and best and brightest team members—to Orlando, Fla., to demonstrate ways that the security industry has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic. We’d like to extend a hearty thanks to each of them for their support and collaboration.

NAPCO

NAPCO’s launch party for the Air Access, its cell-based access control system, drew a huge crowd. The product uses an Access Control as a Service (ACaaS) model to help small- and medium-sized businesses protect their physical space. The easy-to-use app lets users control functionalities from the mobile device of their choice, including features like control of doors, users and lockdown / threat status. It also lets users access real-time monitoring services and SMS alerts.

The E-Access Embedded Solution comes as a 1-, 2- or 4-door expendable controller with choice of super-fast readers NFC, Prox, BLE and HF/Mifare. Other features include hybrid access control, Secure Remote Management, secure end-to-end communications and Bluetooth mobile credentials issued automatically with a single click. Last on display was the DL4100 Privacy Lock, whose keypad can be disabled from the inside for 10–250 minutes for privacy and peace of mind. Many organizations have chosen to implement the solution in private restrooms.

OnSolve

OnSolve took the opportunity to unveil the OnSolve Control Center, a centralized operating hub that lets organizations automate workloads and orchestrate workflows for both common and complex threats in real time. The solution incorporates all three crucial aspects of security: risk intelligence, communication and incident management. OnSolve and its team members were more than hospitable between the Tuesday-afternoon Happy Hour and a convenient espresso booth for some extra pep.

Salient Systems

Salient’s big draw was the Salient CompleteView VMS, an open video data platform that incorporates best-of-breed technologies to expand both business and operational capabilities. Functions include live video, playback, the ability to export recorded video, and PTZ control of cameras from a phone or web browser. No extra licensing or hardware is required.

On Monday, Chief Product Officer Sanjay Challa gave a presentation called “Petabytes of Profit: Unlocking the Insights in Video Data.” Challa discussed how video data can be used in cases beyond security and gave his two cents on various choices that buyers have to make when choosing a VMS.

Salient’s Tuesday-afternoon Cocktail Hour also drew a huge crowd, where attendees enjoyed beverages and discussed Salient solutions with team members.

Please contact Security Today if you’re interested in participating in our Live From program at a future event. The exclusive program gives you a megaphone to announce what you’re bringing to—and doing at—the show. We’ll soon be securing sponsorships for future events, including ISC West 2022 and GSX 2022!
