Guardian Protection Services Wins False Alarm Reduction Award
Guardian Protection Services was recently honored with the False Alarm Reduction Association's (FARA) Industry False Alarm Reduction Achievement Award.
The award is presented each year to a security systems company that works cooperatively with public safety and that has shown meaningful or significant reduction in the number of false alarms over a three to five year period, according to FARA President, Norma Beaubien.
Guardian's 24-hour central station monitors homes and businesses across the United States for burglary, fire and medical emergency alarms. It is certified by the U.L., and has also received Five-Diamond certification from the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA).
"Winning this award says a lot about Guardian with regard to doing our part in reducing false alarms across the board," said Emil Parent, Guardian Protection Services' director of central station operations. "Just to have been nominated by a large police department is equally meaningful for Guardian. Both the nomination and the win convey that we are dedicated to following Enhanced Call Verification (ECV) and abiding by local police department requirements."
Nominations for the award are received from FARA members throughout North America and are carefully considered and selected by those who attend FARA's annual training symposium. Sue Clark of the Montgomery County Police Department in Maryland nominated Guardian for the award. Clark works with Guardian to ensure that all customers obtain the required alarm user registration. Without the proper permits, Montgomery County Police will not respond to an alarm.
The award was announced at FARA's international training symposium for public safety, alarm industry professionals and alarm users.
