SENKOADL Lenses Power Security For Polish University

Europe-wide usage of varifocal lenses from SENKOADL includes a recent project at a leading university in Poland.

The University of Lodz, southwest of Warsaw, has increased campus security with the installation of 50 cameras -- predominantly Samsung and Bosch -- fitted with 3 to 8.55 millimeter lenses from SENKOADL.

A major textile town, dubbed the Manchester of Eastern Europe, Lodz has a student population of 42,000 whose safety on campus has been improved by local distributor and systems consultant ASD Security Systems.

“SENKOADL’s lens offerings work well with the cameras currently being specified in Poland. The units excel in day/night applications, since they accommodate the focus shift between white and IR light. These lenses not only produce crisp images but are competitively priced—a factor that is important in any context and crucial when public money is being invested,” said Jacek Cegielski, a director of ASD.

SENKOADL uses high-resolution Japanese lens technology and low-dispersion (ELD) glass. The company has a sizable European presence with offices and extensive warehousing in Berkshire, England. This allows installers, system consultants and end users working in Europe to be confident of quick turnaround, rapid unit replacement and first-rate after-sales support through access to skilled engineers.

“The camera/lens assemblies are operating externally and contribute to the safety of students and staff as they move around the campus from teaching facilities to residential and sports areas. The university authorities are expanding the CCTV system, as well as replacing older equipment,” Cegielski said.
