UPDATE: Shooter Planned Munich Rampage for a Year

Munich police have determined the number of deceased in the attack on a Munich mall is 10 people.

Most of the victims were in their teens, three victims were 14-years-old, two were 15, one was 17 and one was 19. A 20-year-old and a 45-year-old were also killed.

CNN has reported that the individual who carried out the killings was obsessed with mass shootings and appeared to have planned the attack for a year.

While police have not named the attacked, they said he was an 18-year-old with duel German and Iranian nationality who was born and raised in Munich. Police say the attacker was a mentally troubled individual who had researched mass shootings and rampage killings. 

The individual, who was found after the rampage dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, had no links to terror groups and had no political motive behind the killings.

Munich police are able to confirm that 6 people have died in the shootings at a shopping center just down the road from the Munich Olympic Stadium where a terrorist attack occurred in 1972 during the Summer Olympics.

The situation at a Munich shopping mall is still very much ongoing as police search for suspects that open fired on shoppers. 

Reports say the shooting started near the fast food restaurant, McDonald's, inside the shopping center. From there there suspect or suspects moved throughout the mall and may have left the building.

Police say there could be up to three shooters.

Munich police are also responding to reports of gunfire in the center of the city just an hour and a half after the initial shots. Details are still unclear.

For now, police as asking people in Munich to not post their videos or photos of the scenes as it could aid the suspect/s. Munich public transportation has been shut down and the city is asking residents to stay inside away from public areas.

A shopping mall in Munich, Germany was evacuated after gunfire rang out on July 22.

Police arrived on the scene in large amounts and have reported the shooting is over.

There is no concrete information on injuries, but many sources have reported 1 dead and at least 10 injured.

German police have not released a motive.
