OnSSI's Ocularis Propels VMS Beyond Traditional Applications

OnSSI’s latest enhancements to its Ocularis Video Management Software (VMS) build on its proven reputation and reliability to deliver even greater stability, more robust security, new technology integrations and innovative features. Visitors to the company’s booths (#644/645) at ISC East can experience firsthand the higher functionality these enhancements provide.

“With these new enhancements in stability, security and versatility the latest version of Ocularis continues to build on and expand the solution’s strong reputation as an advanced VMS solution for the professional security industry,” said Ken LaMarca, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, OnSSI. “New technology partnerships, combined with new functionality allow us to offer a greater variety of value-added features and capabilities that go well beyond conventional VMS applications.”

Representing the company’s technology partners at the show is ConvergenceTP (C2P), who will join OnSSI in its booth to demonstrate the benefits of the integration between its solution and Ocularis. This combined solution brings video and data together to deliver vital information that assists operators in assessing emerging situations and helps enable them to choose an appropriate course of action. This integration has proven to be a highly effective utility for security applications in the fields of banking, access control, asset tracking, license plate recognition, point-of-sale and more.

At ISC East, OnSSI is offering FREE Ocularis 5 Base and Client upgrade licenses on currently installed legacy systems! New features and improvements of Ocularis 5 will be highlighted at ISC East including:

  • An auto-updating feaåture, like those available on most smartphones and tablets, ensures users are running the most current – and most secure – version of Ocularis. This provides users with peace of mind while saving dealers and integrators time to perform on-site software updates.
  • Smart Camera Driver technology provides out-of-the-box support for newly introduced cameras from many top camera manufacturers without requiring users to wait for manufacturers to write and release specific drivers. This allows customers to immediately take advantage of the newest, most advanced camera features.
  • 32-bit or 64-bit applications can easily be implemented for Ocularis Client, Administrator, Event Proxy and Base. This allows operators to take full advantage of their systems’ resources when streaming video for better performance.
  • A new Ocularis Mobile app for iOS and Android phones and tablets will be available this Fall, and will allow users to stream live video and transfer it directly to Ocularis using their smartphones and tablets. Other supported features of both Ocularis Mobile and Web – which supports all major browsers – include system alerts when a meaningful event occurs, the ability to manipulate PTZ cameras, and the capability to view live and recorded video on 3G and 4G networks. This next generation of Ocularis Web includes underlying technology for easier installation, providing operators with the ability to view any layout of up to 16 panes, utilizing digital zoom, and supporting device state detection and Windows 10.

Ocularis 5 is offered in three models: Professional, designed for organizations operating multiple locations with small to mid-sized camera counts; Enterprise, built for a wide range of mid to large IT-centric organizations; and Ultimate, created for large organizations with extended command and control needs and recording server failover.
