Execution by Firing Squad a Reality

Execution by Firing Squad a Reality

Death is final; it is irreversible; it is feared by some. Because of these reasons and many more, the debate over the death penalty has and will continue to be an issue of uncooperative conclusions. Social issues along with moral and ethical implications are brought to light in this debate as society tries to argue for what they believe to be right.

Nineteen states in the U.S. have found the death penalty to be illegal, while the remaining states have legalized it. One such state, Utah, not only recognizes the death penalty to be legal, but their governor recently signed a bill that brings back firing squads as way to execute some death row prisoners.

Harsh you might say? Maybe, but Utah’s governor insists that lethal injection is their primary method of executing under death penalty laws, but should that drug be inaccessible at the time of execution, the firing squad would step up and take care of the situation.

So, readers, what do you think?

Do you believe in the death penalty? Why or why not?

Do you think a firing squad is an appropriate way to execute someone under death penalty laws?

Do you think the firing squad method of execution will prevent some crime?

As always, readers, I look forward to your reactions, thoughts and opinions. Let's talk!
