What Makes a Terrorist Cry?

What Makes a Terrorist Cry?

I believe that all humans have feelings; whether they are expressed openly or bottled up inside, they are there, lurking about in our minds. I have often wondered what feelings Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has endured during his trial. Does he feel remorse? Can he “feel” what people went through at the marathon that day he and his brother decided to bomb it? We can only imagine.

From day one of his trial, media sources have reported that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has sat in the court room with a blank, emotionless face and a rather impassive demeanor. This all changed when some of Tsarnaev’s family members took the stand.

A cousin, Raisat Suleimanov, remembered Tsarnaev as a sweet boy with a big smile who cried during the movie ‘The Lion King’ when Mufasa, Simba’s father, was killed by Scar. His mother’s sister took the stand, too. She began to sob uncontrollably as Tsarnaev reciprocated, quickly wiping tears from his eyes and fidgeting in his chair, and as he exited the court room today, he blew a kiss to his family members as they waved back at him.

This disgusted me in so many different ways. I think of the slain marathon runners who will never have the chance to blow a kiss to their family members or receive one from them. What about the victim who lost a limb? They may never be able to wave again. Then, I get even madder and my heart starts to race a bit because I think, “OMG, Tsarnaev shed tears about the memory of an animated movie but not about all the pain and suffering he caused to people…human beings?”

What do you think about Tsarnaev finally crying during his trial?

What do you think about him blowing a kiss to his family?

As always, I look forward to your reactions!
