Perimeter security is intended to protect employees, visitors, and building functions from threats such as unauthorized personnel or vehicles from penetrating protected environments.  This presentation focuses on effective detection technologies and methodologies used to protect security perimeters.  Discussion will include design considerations in barriers, buffers, IDS sensors, lighting considerations, access control points, operational planning and reaction.   Specific discussions will emphasize the importance of aesthetic concerns in design.
