Emergency Management, High Desert Style
Michael Brady will address some of the special challenges in responding to urgent situations at a demanding aviation and engineering school in northern Arizona. Issues addressed will include severe weather, wildfire, lightning, aviation accidents, rocket motor testing, and active shooter response. He will also address how the university staff, administration and the Campus Safety & Security Department handled the COVID-19 pandemic. He will discuss social distancing, face covering and other aspects of the COVID crisis relative to students and staff. Mr. Brady will detail how his department works with local emergency services, state and federal agencies, and higher education regulations to provide a safe and secure learning environment for the campus community.
