Deadly Myths about Active Shooter Events in K–12 Schools
This factual, practical and actionable presentation will help participants more accurately understand and address the risks and effective approaches to protect students and school staff from statistically rare but catastrophic active shooter incidents. Based on his extensive experience working more than 20 K–12 school attacks in four countries and what he has learned providing assistance to school districts and while serving as an expert witness on the litigation following these tragedies, the presenter will show participants how to prevent the increased casualties that have resulted from popular but unsound active shooter training programs that have to date contributed to more than 50 casualties and more than $130 million in out of court settlements by law enforcement agencies and school districts.
