A Look At ASIS

It’s September once again, and that can only mean one thing: ASIS. While the editorial team is meeting with various companies through out the industry during the show, we’ll be keeping both the Security Products and Network-Centric Security Web sites up to date with the latest and most important product news, information and much more.

I’ll be shooting numerous videos with editor-in-chief Ralph Jensen and managing editor Megan Weadock as they talk with various companies about the newest and most exciting products released at the show. You can find those videos on the Web sites and in the show e-newsletters.

And as social networking continues to shoot through the stratosphere of popularity, I plan on using Twitter extensively to give my followers up-to-date information on what is making news at the show. You can find me on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/BrentDirks.

Along with videos on the Web site, I plan to shoot some live video using Qik while I’m at the show -- hopefully during Ben Stein’s keynote on Tuesday morning and the question-and-answer session with Maersk Alabama Capt. Richard Phillips Monday. I’ll be Twittering the links to those videos.

While numerous Tweetups, or Twitter meetups, are being planned for the show, I’m looking forward to attending the ASIS 2009 Get Social event at Disneyland’s Golden Horseshoe Saloon during the President’s Reception on Monday night.
