Cisco Makes MorphoTrack an Ecosystem Provider

Cisco has selected MorphoTrack (Safran group) as an ecosystem provider, making the company’s MorphoAccess biometric readers available as an integral component of Cisco’s IP-based access control system.

“The partnership of two best-in-class technology leaders represents a big step towards fully IP-based, biometric-enabled solutions for physical access control,” said Daniel Vassy, president and CEO of MorphoTrak. “We look forward to serving Cisco customers seeking both FIPS 201-compliant and commercial access control with this joint, top-of-the-line security solution.”

MorphoTrak’s MorphoAccess range of biometric access control devices provide a powerful, highly versatile, front-end smart reader. MorphoTrak’s hardware and software have passed rigorous testing by the National Institute of Standards and Technology for inclusion on the GSA FIPS 201 Approved Products List, as well as TSA testing for inclusion on the TWIC Initial Capabilities Evaluation List.

As the worldwide leader in IP networking, Cisco’s physical access gateway is the primary means for the Cisco physical access control solution to connect MorphoAccess biometric readers to an IP network. The gateway solution is fully scalable, from one to thousands of points, by connecting MorphoAccess input/output modules to the gateway through a Controller Area Network (CAN) bus without the need for additional Ethernet ports. The use of Cisco and MorphoTrak Power-Over-Ethernet capabilities eliminates the cost of installing additional power supplies at each reader location.

    Luma x20

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.”
