Lieberman Software Joins Cloud Security Alliance

Lieberman Software Corporation, the pioneers of Privileged Identity ManagementSM (PIM), has joined the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) to help guide cloud service vendors and their customers in adopting best practices in the area of PIM, according to a company press release.

The company will work with CSA to provide insights gained from its successful track record of managing privileged identities in private, hybrid and public cloud environments.

"Current cloud provider processes for managing privileged identities are either non-existent or so poorly done that it is impossible for these organizations to expect to meet regulatory compliance when it comes to managing privileged accounts," said Philip Lieberman, president and CEO of Lieberman Software. "We share the belief that the success of cloud vendors and their customers will only occur when security and transparency are equivalent or better than what can be provided by on-premises solutions."

The company has been working with ISPs and cloud vendors for more than 17 years and continues to lead the industry by providing highly scalable solutions that address critical issues of multi-tenancy within cloud infrastructures, allowing enterprises to maintain regulatory compliance as they migrate critical IT services to the cloud.

"The current poor security of the cloud and the total lack of transparency by some cloud vendors are the greatest inhibitors for cloud adoption. Our goal is to get cloud vendors to implement proper controls and appropriate security solutions, and provide a welcome environment for auditors where security is a proven quantity, not a secret. By joining CSA, we wish to share our security experience with other CSA members to drive greater adoption and success with the cloud," said Lieberman.

The company has broad technical partnerships and certifications with major hardware and software vendors that are providing products and services to cloud vendors. These partnerships allow the company to offer a comprehensive set of out-of-the-box credential management, alerting, SIEM and ITIL/CMDB connectors to existing and emerging cloud vendors to provide them with provable controls for managing privileged identities. Its solutions are designed for cloud vendors that are seeking to implement continuous compliance, as well as security SLAs and customer transparency into how cloud vendors are managing their IT environments.

"We welcome Lieberman Software's membership in the Cloud Security Alliance," said Jim Reavis, CSA executive director. "[The company's] work in the privileged identity management space meets a vital need among cloud service providers, by enabling only authorized individuals to access their customers' sensitive data and change configuration settings that could disrupt critical business services, while also providing the authoritative audit trails of privileged credentials usage that cloud service customers need."

CSA is led by a broad coalition of industry practitioners, corporations, associations and other key stakeholders. For more information, visit www.cloudsecurityalliance.org.
