Cooper Notification Introduces New Wide-Area Mass Notification System

Cooper Notification, a platform of Cooper Industries plc (NYSE: CBE), recently announced the launch of its latest Wide-Area Mass Notification System (MNS) solution. The WAVES High Power Speaker Array (HPSA) 7100 Series, which provides highly intelligible voice and tone announcements, can be integrated with an organization’s voice-capable Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) as well as Cooper Notification’s SAFEPATH 4 (SP40S) Voice Evacuation Systems and SAFEPATH Mass Notification Systems (SPMNS), providing a simple upgrade path to expand emergency communications coverage to outdoor areas.

Using leading-edge amplification technology, Cooper Notification’s High Power Speaker Arrays were designed for high intelligibility and energy efficiency. The HPSA’s vertical line arrays provide a narrow vertical output pattern for focusing sound directly at the audience, which produces better sound pressure and higher intelligibility. By creating a nearly cylindrical sound propagation pattern, the system allows messages to be clearly understood whether a person is 100 feet or 1,500 feet away from it.

“We developed the HPSA-7100 Series as part of our continuing efforts to provide our customers and partners with innovative life safety and mass notification technologies,” said Scott Hearn, president of Cooper Notification. “Not only does the system allow our customers to expand mass notification to outdoor areas by leveraging their existing infrastructure, but it also enables our partners to easily integrate with a facility’s existing FACP and our SAFEPATH systems.

“In addition to a hard-wired solution, Cooper Notification has created a suite of critical communication solutions, including RF and IP networks, for the HPSA and our indoor systems. Our range of offerings allows us to address the specific needs of an organization’s environment and provide a single integrated and interoperable solution.”
