Apperian Names Carlos Montero-Luque Senior Vice President of Engineering

Apperian Inc., a provider of cloud-based mobile application management for the enterprise, announced Carlos Montero-Luque has joined the company as senior vice president, engineering. Responsible for all product engineering, Montero-Luque will lead Apperian’s efforts to accelerate the growth of enterprise mobile applications.

Montero-Luque brings to Apperian an extensive background in engineering. He joins the company from Novell, where he held several positions, including vice president, business and product management for SUSE Linux; chief technical officer for security and identity management; and vice president, engineering, for the ZENworks product suite.

Having recently completed a $9.5 million round of financing, Apperian is aggressively positioning itself at the center of the exploding market for mobile enterprise applications. The company is focused on its Enterprise App Services Environment (EASE), which is the only platform that delivers to developers and IT professionals faster creation, and easy testing and deployment of apps, all with a completely familiar user experience.

“The experience Carlos brings to Apperian will allow us to step up our efforts to support developers building mobile applications for the enterprise,” said David Patrick, Apperian CEO. “The demand for mobile devices and apps continues to grow unabated in corporate America, and Apperian provides the platform to guarantee those applications will be secure and easily managed.”

In addition to his experience at Novell, Montero-Luque also held engineering management positions at Ximian Inc., Inktomi Corp., and WebSpective Software Inc.
