Fujitsu Launches PalmPartner Program

Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc., a provider of IT-based business solutions, including advanced technology products, biometric security, and digital media solutions, today announced a new channel sales program called PalmPartner that is designed to educate and to provide technical, marketing and sales support for Fujitsu’s PalmSecure product resellers, technology partners and system integrators.

The “PalmPartner” program is a comprehensive training, channel marketing and sales support program for Fujitsu’s PalmSecure biometric solution. The program will enable Fujitsu’s PalmPartners to be trained and ready to successfully sell, implement and maintain the PalmSecure palm-vein biometric authentication solution.

"In order to meet the growing market demand for robust, end-to-end biometric solutions, it is imperative that we partner selectively with leading resellers and integrators, depending on each market and vertical they serve," said Christer Bergman, vice president of Fujitsu’s Biometric Solutions Group. "Fujitsu’s PalmPartner channel sales program delivers key training on the totality of the biometric market and our PalmSecure solution, as well as grants access to numerous tools to drive awareness and sales within these markets. We are very pleased to launch the PalmPartner program in order to qualify and onboard those with the greatest focus, qualifications and expertise.”

The objective of the PalmPartner program is to provide extensive training, sales and marketing support so that participants can continue to build on the success of the PalmSecure solution in the marketplace. Recent major deployments include: Pinellas County School District (Foodservice), New York University Langone Medical Center (Patient Registration -- Healthcare), and George Washington University Medical Center (Patient Registration and Records Management -- Healthcare).

"Working with Fujitsu strengthens our technology offering, making it truly end-to-end, which means we can add significant value to our customer-focused solutions,” said Stanislav Zavidovski, vice president of the Biometric Human Identification Center, in Toronto. "Being a PalmPartner means we are well prepared and positioned to work with Fujitsu to capitalize on the rapid increase in demand for biometric-driven identity management solutions."

The PalmPartner program has three certification levels, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Minimal qualifications include annual technical and sales training and participation in Fujitsu’s channel management program, whereby PalmPartners must meet web marketing and sales process standards. As well, participants must be actively engaged in the biometrics industry, with the commensurate qualifications based on the industry they serve.

The Fujitsu PalmSecure biometric sensor uses a near-infrared light scan to capture and store a person’s palm vein pattern during the initial capture process, generating a unique biometric template for that person that is linked to the person’s identity. On subsequent scans, such as during a follow-up visit to a doctor’s office, a foodservice transaction, or clocking in for a work shift, the person’s scan is matched against the profile of the stored palm vein patterns to identify the person, accurately logging the instance for use in the associated business process. Unlike other biometric systems, the PalmSecure device does not come into contact with the skin, making it extremely hygienic, non-intrusive and unrestricted by external factors such as skin types and conditions.
