"Cake Boss" Buddy Valastro Uses Interlogix Technology to Secure Facilities

When "Buddy" Valastro, owner of the famous Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, N.J. and star of several popular television reality shows, looked to expand his business from a small storefront to a new 60,000 sq. ft. warehouse, part of his challenge was to secure the facility. Valastro called upon his technology director, Leo Minervini, and Luis Fernandez, owner, Security Cam Depot, LLC and Interlogix dealer, for the best solution. The answer was Interlogix, a leader in security and life safety solutions for residential and commercial enterprises. The company serves as the preferred surveillance provider for Carlo's Bakery warehouse in Jersey City, NJ. Interlogix is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

"We spoke to a variety of suppliers, and ultimately chose Interlogix," Minervini said. "They took the time to understand our business and vulnerabilities, offering us the best options to meet our needs."

Among the products installed at the warehouse are TruVision video, IFS transmission and NetworX intrusion.

"The bakery was looking for a flexible surveillance system that could expand as they grow. It was also important for the solution to be mobile with remote monitoring capability. TruVision from Interlogix was the best choice," Fernandez said.

Over several phases of the project, more than 100 TruVision IP Megapixel cameras, 15 TruVision DVR 60s and several IFS 24-port PoE switches were installed at the new warehouse, which are all centrally managed by TruVision Navigator video management software.

"This installation is an excellent example of deploying leading IP technologies, including high-resolution video and mobile applications for customers to seamlessly manage their system from anywhere in the world," said Kostas Mellos, video sales leader, Interlogix.

"Once we saw the quality and capabilities of the products and systems Interlogix had to offer, it was kind of a no-brainer. TruVision is awesome -- my experience has been extremely positive," stated Valastro.
