Auto Dealer in Dubai Installs Arecont Vision Cameras

Al Nabooda Automobiles, a Porsche, Audi and Volkswagon dealer in Dubai, has installed Arecont Vision's panoramic and all-in-one bullet cameras.

The auto dealer installed the cameras as part of its inititiave to have a centralized physical security system where they could monitor their facilities remotely.

Al Nabooda now has a variety of Arecont Vision cameras, including the SurroundVideo® AV8365DN and AV8185DN and day/night 8-megapixel H.264 cameras, which provide 360-degree and 180-degree panoramic views.

According to the auto dealer, the cameras provide a cost-effective solution by eliminating the need for mechanical pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) devices and reducing the overall number of cameras necessary to provide detailed coverage of large areas.

In addition, the company chose Arecont because their cameras use H.264 compression to provide megapixel video in lower-bandwidth streams to meet multi-site streaming and archiving requirements. H.264 compression also allows for 31 days of economical video storage. The camera enclosures' IP66 environmental rating for high humidity and outdoor installation can withstand Dubai's extreme temperatures.

Some of its dealers have Arecont Vision AV1125IR 1.3 Megapixel H.264 MegaView™ IP cameras. Models include the all-in-one day/night bullet-style cameras with a 4.5-10mm varifocal lens, weatherproof enclosure and infrared (IR).

Al Nabooda positioned its cameras so users could view the dealerships' sales floors and showrooms, workshops, parts and service entraces. With the cameras' high-resolution images, the system can view small-part numbers in stockrooms and workshps and track parts being transported from storerooms to workships.
