DVTEL Unveils ioimage Thermal Camera for Low Light or Zero Light Environments

DVTEL, an IP video surveillance solutions provider, announced the release of ioimage Thermal, a new line of high-performance, intelligent, thermal cameras. Available in fixed and pan-tilt versions, the cameras provide exceptional image quality at an affordable price.

The ioimage Thermal surveillance cameras with associated ioimage video analytics deliver sophisticated image interpretation and comprehension for customers requiring detection in low-light or zero-light environments. The ioimage Thermal line delivers fixed and pan-tilt configurations in a low-power, lightweight design with multiple lens options. Powered by DRS Technologies – a global supplier of advanced electro-optical sensor systems, services and support to military forces, intelligence agencies and prime contractors – the cameras can be easily integrated with existing surveillance systems.

Bundled with ioimage analytics encoders, the cameras are an ideal automated detection solution for security deployments in critical infrastructure, perimeter security, oil and gas, and transportation markets. The addition of ioimage analytic encoders are a key component of the cameras as the devices deliver an advanced level of analytic capabilities to reduce false alarms while maintaining a high probability of detection.

The ONVIF Profile-S-compliant ioimage Thermal camera is the first product in the line of advanced, edge-based, intelligent surveillance devices from DVTEL that are optimized to work in low-light conditions. The infrared detector allows ioimage Thermal devices to detect the energy (or heat) that all objects, structures and people emit. This approach enables a more consistent image than traditional cameras in harsh environments such as those affected by fog, haze, smog, smoke, rain and extreme variances in temperature.

“The ioimage Thermal camera line introduces a new option for customers requiring detection in practically any environment,” said Yoav Stern, president and CEO, DVTEL. “It delivers reliable surveillance coverage in new and existing surveillance systems at a favorable price point for a variety of applications.”

The new thermal line is compatible with the entire DVTEL IP-based technology portfolio and is scheduled to be available in early 2014 through DVTEL’s network of authorized resellers.
