Woman Rams Police Car at Miami International Airport

According to reports, the FBI has taken over an investigation involving a woman who allegedly rammed a parked Miami-Dade Police patrol car at the Miami International Airport. Police believe the woman, 33-year-old Julissa Magdalena Maradiaga-Iscoa, was trying to smash through the airport doors at concourse D.

Detective Alvaro Zabaleta of the Miami-Dade Police said the situation “appears to be a direct attempt to do a security breach through the front door utilizing the vehicle.”

There are no terrorist ties to Maradiaga-Iscoa, but she told officers she had a bomb.

“Once they made contact with her she began to, in a high tone, yell in what appeared to be an Arabic language and in English told the responding officers that she had a bomb in her possession,” said Zabaleta.

A search of her car found no explosives, but the incident caused departure of concourse D to be placed on lock down and evacuated.
