Four are dead, including the shooter, following a workplace violence incident at a San Francisco UPS.

Four people are dead after a gunman in a UPS uniform opened fire on employees at a large UPS warehouse facility in San Francisco on Wednesday, June 14.

Police confirmed at around 8:55 a.m. local time they received reports of an active shooter at the UPS facility. When they arrived on scene they located several victims and then the gunman who had a least two weapons on him.

When police approached the suspect, he raised his weapon and shot himself in the head. Police immediately rendered aid to the suspect and he was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Five other employees were shot during the incident and three of them died as a result of their wounds. Two were found dead at the scene when police arrived and another died later at the hospital. There is no information on the two remaining injured employees.

In a photo uploaded to Twitter, employees could be seen seeking refuge from the gun fire on the roof of the facility.

After police determined the suspect was no longer a threat, they began to evacuate the building and search for additional victims or witnesses. In a statement from UPS, the postal company explained that the facility could have up to 850 employees at the facility on the day of the shooting.

“The company is saddened and deeply concerned about affected employees, family members and the community we share,” UPS said in the statement uploaded to their website. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those touched by this incident.”
