Lumeo Names Tech Exec Bob Cutting as Chief Operating Officer

Lumeo, a designer of computer vision solutions, has named Bob Cutting as Chief Operating Officer. Cutting brings extensive operations and video analytics experience to Lumeo, which develops a “no-code” video analytics platform that enables solution providers to quickly create and deliver a wide range of AI-powered analytics using any camera, video management solution, and third-party analytics.

“We’re thrilled to have Bob Cutting join Lumeo as COO,” said Devarshi Shah, Lumeo co-founder and CEO. “Bob has a wealth of experience spanning startups and established companies - from helping bring new analytics products to market to using analytics in the field to improve business processes. His team building skills coupled with a focus on customer success will serve as a great asset for us as we continue to innovate analytics and computer vision solutions.”

Cutting comes to Lumeo from security management solutions provider Kastle Systems where he served as vice president and led operations for the company’s west region. Prior to Kastle, he served as an executive consultant providing senior executive leadership for product management, solution deployment, and operations for technology-based start-ups. He was also co-founder of Prism, a cloud service that transformed video cameras into IoT-based visual merchandising and business intelligence devices for major global retailers. He first cut his teeth in video analytics as the Vice President of Product Management for ObjectVideo, an early pioneer and leading provider of intelligent video software.

Cutting has an MBA from the George Washington University School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Rochester. Upon graduation from Rochester, he received his commission from the United States Navy and served as a submarine officer for over six years.

“I’m honored and excited to be part of Lumeo’s future growth,” Cutting said. “My career is taking me back to my roots as I reenter the always evolving video analytics space. I’ve been watching Lumeo for some time and have been intrigued by Lumeo's very refreshing and much needed approach for enabling all types of organizations to streamline the building and deployment of custom video analytics.”

Lumeo provides software providers and system integrators solve the challenges of embedding computer vision or video analytics into existing infrastructure. It replaces the need for the too complicated one-size-fits-all or too expensive tailor made analytics solutions with easy tools that let integrators deploy their own solutions. Lumeo is an open and flexible video analytics platform that gives solution providers the tools to harness computer vision, AI, and cameras to make sense of video data.

This is accomplished via Lumeo’s plug-and-play building blocks that enable a wide range of use cases, drag-and-drop tools that let users build analytics solutions in minutes, not months, and the flexibility to run on the edge or the cloud.
