Security Industry Association Opens Nominations for the 2024 SIA Women in Biometrics Awards

The Security Industry Association (SIA) has opened the call for nominations for the 2024 SIA Women in Biometrics Awards, a globally recognized program presented by SIA with support from organizational and media partners AVISIAN, Biometric Update and SIA’s Identity & Biometric Technology Advisory Board and Women in Security Forum. The recipients of this year’s Women in Biometrics Awards will be honored at the 2024 SIA GovSummit, SIA’s annual government security conference.

“Now in its tenth year, the SIA Women in Biometrics Awards program is a renowned initiative celebrating the outstanding and innovative women in biometrics who are helping our industry effectively protect people, places, facilities and communities,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “We are proud to present these awards each year, and we encourage our members and the broader industry to participate in this important effort by nominating and recognizing the inspiring women leading the way in this vital technology market.”

The SIA Women in Biometrics Awards recognize top women leaders in the biometric identity and security industry. Nominees and past winners include those working for biometric companies, peripheral suppliers, system integrators, academia, government and security and IT departments at a variety of organizations in the United States and internationally.

Each nominee should exemplify one or more of the following contributions to the biometrics field:

  • Leadership: Substantive and defining leadership in academic, public awareness, legislative and/or standards efforts
  • Participation: Efforts that go above and beyond individual company/organizational/agency walls and into the larger identity sphere
  • Innovation: Pioneering biometric product, service or solution development and/or advancement
  • Mentoring: Industry involvement sharing expertise and mentoring peers, thus growing the market
  • Nominations for the 2024 SIA Women in Biometrics Awards program will be accepted until Friday, March 29. A jury including previous award winners will select this year’s honorees. Learn more and submit a nomination here.
