Live From ISC West: Day 2

What a great show ISC West 2024 has been so far. The second day on Thursday was as busy or even more hectic than the first.

Remember to keep tabs on our Live From ISC West page for news and updates from the show floor at the Sands Expo, because there’s more news coming out than anyone could be expected to keep track of.

Our Live From sponsors—DoorKing, AtlasIED, Princeton Identity, LiftMaster, powered by myQ, and Hytera—kept the momentum from Day 1 going with packed tons of great action and demonstrations.

Here’s a recap of some of the action:

DoorKing (Booth 23015): DoorKing is well known for a wide variety of products including access control systems, vehicular gate operators, parking control products and vehicle barrier products. DoorKing’s Jac Whitmire provided the lowdown on the company’s 1625 Wedge Barrier System in this video.

AtlasIED (Booth 31061): The crowds at AtlasIED were taking a look at the company’s wide variety of products for education, businesses, and more. One of the line available to see is the IPX Series of IP-enabled solutions. The series can provide a wide variety of audible and visual announcements. See how it works here.

Princeton Identity (Booth 23004): The great eyeallow solution from Princeton Identity shows how far biometrics continues to improve for security applications. And the solution is also a low cost—usually something not associated with biometric technology. Princeton Identity offers a hardware as a service option where you can receive the reader hardware and software and just pay a monthly fee.

LiftMaster, powered by myQ (Booth 26060): Along with the myQ Community Cloud Based Platform and app, make sure to stop by the LiftMaster, powered by myQ booth to take a look at the TECHNA Barrier Gate Operators. Those offer better performance and versatility for applications like parking management and industrial security. Some of the features including DC brushless motors, a backup battery, and solar kit.

Hytera (Booth 20099): Hytera is showcasing a number of new products including a pair of DMR Mobile Radios. The entry-level HM652 and mid-level HM682. Both are built rugged to the MIL-STD- 810 G standard for shock and humidity, and are IP54 compliant for water and dust ingress. Each options is also compliant with the Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) industry standard. We’re headed into the home stretch and the final day of the great show. If you’re headed home on Friday, be safe!

  • Gaining a Competitive Edge

Ask most companies about their future technology plans and the answers will most likely include AI. Then ask how they plan to deploy it, and that is where the responses may start to vary. Every company has unique surveillance requirements that are based on market focus, scale, scope, risk tolerance, geographic area and, of course, budget. Those factors all play a role in deciding how to configure a surveillance system, and how to effectively implement technologies like AI. Read Now

Even highly specific regulations like the U.S.’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) can have international reverberations – and this growing volume of legislation has continued to affect global supply chains in a variety of different ways.
