It Always Rains in Florida

Over the years, and many trips to various cities, I have experienced some of the craziest memorable things. One thing I always count on when going to Orlando is a massive rainstorm after the tradeshow has concluded the first day. Count on it, it is going to rain Monday evening. Expect that it will be a gully washer.

Here are some interesting notes from my work travels over the past 25 years.

  • Seattle: I’ve been to the great Northwest a few times, and it has never rained while I’ve been here. Portland: It tried to rain once without much success. I’m not complaining, it just seems kind of weird.
  • Los Angeles: Rarely, if ever, do I rent a car when traveling, but I have most every time I go to Los Angeles. I’ve always been told to avoid the 405 freeway. I always drive the 405, and it has always been wide open.
  • Atlanta: To say that traffic is bad in this city is an understatement. I believe that 2025 GSX is in New Orleans, and there is this place in The Big Easy for a good meal. Café du Monde is worth a dinner reservation.
  • Chicago: Again, bad traffic. I’ve never been in or seen a traffic jam in Chicagoland. Want a good, quick lunch try Joe’s Italian Beef, or stop in at a Portillo’s.
  • Orlando: Carry an umbrella with you for Monday after the tradeshow closes on Monday evening. I’m just saying.

It is almost time. See you soon in the City Beautiful.
