Bringing New Goods to Market

The 2024 version of GSX brought with it a race to outrun incoming hurricane Helene. With it’s eye on Orlando, it seems to have shifted and those security professionals still in Orlando now have a fighting chance to get out town.

Those left behind are staff members who were tasked with taking down their respective tradeshow booths and cleaning up all the loose odds and ends. I escaped well ahead of Helene and returned to the Dallas area unscathed.

So, what’s new from GSX? Take a look at a few things that jumped out at me.

Altronix, Circ1ATS
This is a high-voltage AC automatic transfer switch that can be added to any Altronix power supply with a high-voltage input. This unit accepts connections from two independent high-voltage AC sources (Primary and Secondary) and provides a single redundant high-voltage AC Output. If AC Power is lost on the primary input, the Circ1ATS automatically transfers to the secondary AC Power input without delay, ensuring that system security is maintained.

The Next Big Thing
Quanergy Solutions Inc. brought the “next big thing” in physical security with their Q-Track™ 3D LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) solution on show, designed for advanced security and business intelligence applications.

“At Quanergy, we believe that 3D LiDAR technology is a game-changer for the physical security landscape,” said Enzo Signore, CEO of Quanergy. “GSX Orlando is the perfect stage to showcase how our solutions are setting new standards in proactive security, helping organizations worldwide to stay ahead of potential threats with next-generation technology.”

The Q-Track™ solution is a major leap forward in physical security by integrating Quanergy’s state-of-the-art long-range 3D LiDAR sensors with innovative perception software. This powerful combination delivers unparalleled 3D intelligent proactive awareness, drastically reducing false alarms and enhancing life-saving capabilities. Q-Track™ sets new industry benchmarks for event detection, object classification, and tracking, redefining what’s possible in security and business intelligence technology.

The ·Q-Track HD is designed to provide optimal tracking and classification in particularly challenging environments, such as crowded airports, retail stores and office buildings. With its 360-degree horizontal field of view and a very wide vertical field of view, a meshed network of Q-Track HDs can accurately track more than 1,000 people simultaneously, even as they navigate obstructions such as line queues, columns, shelves and desks.

This newly introduced product is tailored for smaller and more complex environments, such as office buildings, corridors, mantraps, and line queues. With a 90-degree vertical field of view, this sensor is optimized for dense areas, offering unmatched performance and reliability for object tracking and crowd intelligence gathering applications.

Overall, a pretty terrific tradeshow. Looking forward to the 2025 version, to be held in New Orleans.
