Precovery in Action: Proactive Strategies to Promote School Safety and Mass Violence Prevention

Date: Tuesday January 14, 2025 at 2:00pm ET - 1:00pm CT - 11:00am PT

According to a report from NCES, 67% of public schools reported having at least one violent incident during the 2021-22 school year. And over the last 20 years, the number of school shootings has increased 963%. As we start 2025, it's critical to have a robust and intentional school safety and threat assessment plan in place. Join us for an important discussion drawing on lessons learned from districts that have faced on-campus mass violence.

Led by a distinguished panel including Dr. Marleen Wong, CEO of the Center for Safe and Resilient Schools and Workplaces, Michelle Kefford, Principal at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and Lisa Wobbe Veit, Professor of Social Work in Practicum Education at the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, attendees will gain knowledge in actionable strategies and tools focused on prevention while fostering resilience and safety in their school communities.
