Josh Ball, Senior Director of Safety and Security , Kansas City Chiefs
Josh Ball specializes in leadership, change management, program management and consulting. He is available for your speaking engagements, coaching, and consulting needs.
Ball has been with the Kansas City Chiefs since August 2024 as the senior director of Safety and Security. There he leads a professional team overseeing organization, event and facility security. Josh works with cross-functional teams to build crisis management, business continuity, safety, security, resiliency and risk management plans. As the leader of the safety and security operations, Ball works with NFL Security to ensure best practices are maintained, and with DHS for the SAFETY Act Designation program. Josh served as the Senior Director of Security, Safety, and First Aid for Churchill Downs, Home of the Kentucky Derby.
As part of the Executive Committee, he helps lead the World’s Most Legendary Thoroughbred Racetrack, focusing on safety and security. Under the iconic Twin Spires, the safety and security professionals worked diligently to provide a positive guest experience while serving to keep guests safe and secure. Previously, Ball served as the director of Public Safety/Chief of Police with the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, the governing body over the world’s fourth busiest cargo airport, Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) and Bowman Field (LOU) where he received honors such as being selected to the 2019 Airport Business Top 40 Under 40, Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives, and on the Board of Directors for the Airport Law Enforcement Agency Network.
