Ronald Applin, Chief of Police, Atlanta Public Schools
Chief Ronald Applin is the founding Chief of Police for the Atlanta Public Schools Police Department, bringing more than 34 years of law‑enforcement experience, including service as a U.S. Marine Corps Reservist and a Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Captain overseeing Law Enforcement, SWAT, and Criminal Investigations. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, holds degrees from Mercer and Troy University, and has completed doctoral coursework in Criminal Justice. His leadership extends nationally through roles with GACP, IACP, the National Center for School Safety Advisory Board, and multiple education and criminal justice boards.
