Boon Edan Tomsed Provides Optical Turnstiles

You likely don’t pay much attention to the turnstiles when entering ISC East, but they are an important part of security, both at the tradeshow, and at any event where turnstiles are emplaced. Boon Edan Tomsed Inc. is the exclusive optical turnstile sponsor for ISC East Sept. 11-12 in New York City.

The company will install its Speedlane 2048 pedestrian security lanes at the main entrance to the show floor at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, where more than 10,000 security industry professionals are expected to attend the show.

Turnstiles have various uses, among them are tailgate detection, and the equipment also has beams at three heights to prevent any crawl-throughs. Another important features of turnstiles is that some can discern carried objects, wheelchairs, guide dogs and will ensure negligible false alarm rates. Those deployed at ISC East will be able to hand 35 people per minute.

Barrier and barrier-free pedestrian security lanes with turnstiles also offer security ranges from low to maximum security.
