Microsoft Partner Solutions Center Features Gemalto Solutions

Information technology leaders visiting the Microsoft Partner Solutions Center on Microsoft Corp.’s Redmond, Wash., campus can now experience hands-on live simulation of  digital security solutions from Gemalto.

“The Microsoft Partner Solutions Center is an environment that allows leading technology providers to work with customers and partners on system interoperability, proof-of-concept tests and implementation strategies,” said Manuel Rebuffel, worldwide technical community lead for the communications sector at Microsoft. “We are pleased to add Gemalto to the list of leading companies working at the center to transform their technological visions into reality.”

The technical center boasts 600 servers, 100 terabytes of data storage and many facilities to help customers explore, plan and test solutions for their Microsoft systems.

“The Envisioning Center is particularly exciting; our customers can experience firsthand how well Gemalto’s solutions perform in their own simulated environment,” said Marvin Tansley, director of Gemalto’s global alliance with Microsoft. “Enterprise and government IT teams can now evaluate and test Gemalto’s two-factor digital security solutions for network access, identity management, data encryption and digital signing right alongside the exact Microsoft systems they plan to use.”

Gemalto digital security solutions to be available at the center include the Gemalto .NET smart card; the Protiva Strong Authentication Server and related Protiva credential devices using either one time password (OTP) or digital certificates; and Gemalto’s other Windows Smart Card Framework-compatible products.

The center also includes state-of-the-art training facilities as well as R&D labs where Gemalto can work even more closely with Microsoft to integrate and test products and systems.

Gemalto’s Protiva security platform was recently certified with the Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006, part of the Microsoft Forefront Security Suite. These Microsoft products provide enhanced network edge protection and application-centric, policy-based access to corporate IT infrastructures.

Microsoft employees use Gemalto .NET smart card technology embedded in their corporate badge to enable secure, two-factor authentication for access to Microsoft’s own information systems.
