Chilean Casino Installs VIVOTEK Network Surveillance System

Gran Casino de Talca is a burgeoning gaming resort in Chile with an accommodation of 400 slot machines and 15 gaming tables. Delighted by the brisk business, the casino manager, however, faced increasing difficulty in management and security maintenance.

To provide safe and fair gaming experiences for each guest, the casino officials saw the need to install a surveillance system. They took advice from Infokrause, VIVOTEK's distributor in Chile, and installed an IP surveillance system based on VIVOTEK network cameras.

In total, 161 network cameras were installed, which were IP7131, IZ7151 and IP7151. The IP7131s were put at the slot machines, IZ7151s at the gaming tables and IP7151s at access restricted areas such as the count room.

The IP7131s offer superior low light performance, making it a good fit for slot machines. The IZ7151s and IP7151s with a progressive scan CCD sensor can provide clear and crisp images of moving objects, facilitating the monitoring of the fast-pacing casino environment. The IZ7151s' 18x zoom capability enables the manager to effectively prevent gaming fraud at the table because they can clearly see the chips, dice number and cards on the table.

VIVOTEK's IP surveillance system significantly enhances management efficiency of the casino. The manager can monitor each table at the same time and keep track of customer movement.

"The installation cuts down our spending on security guards while still ensuring us the same level of security. The guests can enjoy the games without worrying about gaming frauds." said Jerome Perez, manager of the casino.
