SIA’s Ride For Education Wraps Up ISC West Saturday

ISC West exhibitors and attendees can wrap up their week at the trade show with a fun and scenic motorcycle ride outside Las Vegas by participating in the Security Industry Association's seventh annual Ride for Education on Saturday.

During the event, which will run from 9 a.m. to about 5 p.m., riders will bike through the breathtaking Valley of Fire and are scheduled to visit the Hoover Dam and other sites. Lunch will be provided.

The ride benefits SIA's First Responders Educational Scholarship, which awards funds to volunteer or publicly-paid first responders who are taking security and life safety-related courses.

Registration costs $45 per rider ($35 per passenger). While participants are welcome to bring their own bikes, they can also rent them at a discounted rate from Las Vegas Harley Davidson. Sign up for the event on the SIA Web site.

Anyone who is interested in supporting the scholarship fund while associating his or her company with this unique event can learn about sponsorship opportunities by contacting Alain Taylor, SIA's sales manager, at (703) 647-8481 or [email protected].

Hexagon’s Accur8vision is a volumetric detection system that employs LiDAR technology to safeguard entire areas. Whenever it detects movement in a specified zone, it automatically differentiates a threat from a nonthreat, and immediately notifies security staff if necessary. Person detection is carried out within a radius of 80 meters from this device. Connected remotely via a portable computer device, it enables remote surveillance and does not depend on security staff patrolling the area.
