Monitronics Launches IP Service

As part of its ISC West appearance, home security alarm provider Monitronics announced the launch of its IP service, exclusively through Honeywell. This is part of Monitronics' efforts to offer comprehensive and cutting-edge technologies to authorized dealers.

In 2009, a census showed that about 65 percent of households utilize high-speed Internet access and that number is growing by 10 percent every year. Introducing the 7847i and 7847i-L for dealers will increase Monitronics' competitiveness in the alarm industry, as well as make them more marketable for a wider range of customers in the future.

Honeywell's 7847i series of IP communicators are designed to meet today's demand for viable communication alternatives. The 7847i delivers highly secure, reliable Internet communication of alarm data while the 7847i-L is suitable for enterprise private network applications using local LAN or point-to-point connections. Internet signals are delivered to Honeywell's AlarmNet Network Control Center, which routes the information to the Monitronics central station.
