3VR Expands SmartRecorder ServerClass 100 Capabilities

The 3VR SmartRecorder ServerClass 100 supports up to 64 IP cameras or 32 megapixel cameras of searchable video on a single appliance, according to a press release from 3VR Security Inc.

With greater capacity to support 3VR SmartAnalytics and more cameras, the ServerClass 100 is the company’s most powerful and scalable solution to date, designed to meet the needs of any large-scale surveillance implementation.

The ServerClass also supports up to 20 terabytes of storage which, when combined with 3VR SmartStorage technology, offers customers 15 times more efficient storage than typical DVRs. The technology easily scales up to meet the needs of cities, transportation and infrastructure security, as well as other large-scale deployments in 3VR’s core markets like retail, financial services, hospitality and campus safety.

“Traditional video management systems often require difficult and costly integration between the separate hardware, software and network resources, but 3VR seamlessly integrates intelligent video software and hardware on a single appliance,” said Steve Russell, founder and chairman.

The ServerClass 100 offers an open platform, enabling users to easily integrate with third-party business systems like access control, transaction and point-of-sale systems. It also supports the entire suite of 3VR SmartAnalytics, including facial recognition and license plate recognition, to provide a meaningful way to structure and search stored video. Further, its video search capabilities bring new levels of efficiency to end users and enable them to search stored video in a "Google-like" manner and more than double the speed of investigations.

SmartStorage also offers video analysis capabilities to intelligently isolate and store critical images from live footage.

“We’ve deployed the 3VR SmartRecorder ServerClass within cities in Northern California, as well as a school district in the community, and the results have been very positive,” said Brian Van Norman, director of sales, Surveillance Solutions Integration. “The customer was able to cost-effectively deploy a solution to unify several locations on a single NVR, and the 3VR ServerClass has been running flawlessly for them. 3VR’s video management appliance offers the power and versatility of a much more expensive VMS solution with the simplicity of a turnkey DVR. The ease of use and cost-effective price point enable a larger customer to get more value and quicker return on investment out of their security system.”

The company will be exhibiting its technology at Booth 3291 at the ASIS 2010 Conference in Dallas, Texas on Oct. 12-15.
