Genetec Has One of Canada's Most Admired Corporate Cultures

Genetec, a pioneer in physical security and a provider of world-class IP security solutions, won a regional award in Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures of 2010 Program. Genetec was chosen out of 276 eligible nominated organizations in 2010 and 98 finalists.

Since 2005, this program has been recognizing organizations for having a culture that has helped them enhance their performance and sustain a competitive advantage. Other winning organizations in the category included Desjardins Group, National Bank Financial Group, and Pratt & Whitney Canada. Each nominated organization was evaluated on the following criteria: vision and leadership; cultural alignment, measurement and sustainability; rewards, recognition and innovative business achievement; corporate performance; and corporate social responsibility.

“Winning this award is of great importance to the team. Our company is a place for inspiration, creativity and personal accomplishment that is home to talented, hard-working people. The strength of any organization resides in its ability to retain its employees. At Genetec, maintaining our modern corporate culture and business practices goes hand-in-hand with our dedication to innovate in the security industry,” said Joëlle Couture, CHRP, manager – talent management.

Genetec provides IP license plate recognition (LPR), video surveillance and access control solutions to markets such as transportation, education, retail, gaming, government and more.

The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
