Aimetis Names Vice President of Engineering

Aimetis Corp., a provider of IP video management software, recently announced that it has named David Thompson to serve as vice president of engineering.

Thompson has more than 25 years of experience in software development working at a variety of high-tech firms. Most recently, he was senior director of engineering excellence at Blue Coat Systems, where he led the continuous quality improvement initiatives across the 400-plus member engineering organization.

Prior to Blue Coat, Thompson served as director of process improvement and special projects at Invensys Process Systems, and director of R&D for i2 Technologies, now part of JDA Software Group. He also served in a variety of engineering leadership roles at Sybase (an SAP Company), Deft Software and Disus. He earned a bachelor's degree in applied science in industrial engineering at the University of Toronto.
