IT Storage Veteran Joins Pivot3 as Sales VP

Pivot3 Inc., which consolidates servers and storage in a scale-out application platform, has hired Curt Wittich as its new Vice President of Sales. Wittich, who has a proven track record of driving growth in a variety of corporate environments, immediately assumes the role and reports directly to Pivot3 President and CEO Bob Fernander. In his new position, Wittich is responsible for overseeing sales efforts in the Americas on behalf of Pivot3.

Wittich’s appointment follows a successful 2010 for Pivot3, in which the company doubled revenues over 2009. During this time, demand for external storage solutions in the company’s core market of video surveillance storage soared, as more high-definition cameras were deployed, video data was stored for longer retention times, and the market underwent a large shift from analog to digital infrastructure. Pivot3 will continue to build its executive team as it scales its success in video surveillance into other markets, including IT, and looks to double revenues again in 2011.

“There is a lot of excitement in the marketplace about new storage technologies, and Pivot3 is uniquely positioned to take advantage of growth opportunities in high-capacity environments,” Wittich said. “I look forward to leading activities to drive sales, profits and market share of the unique platforms offered by Pivot3 while continuing to exceed user expectations of our combined server/storage technologies.”

Wittich most recently served as vice president of worldwide sales with Pillar Data Systems, where he led the company’s global sales efforts. During his tenure at Pillar, Wittich oversaw the successful completion of various strategic investment initiatives and drove record revenue levels. Before that, he was senior vice president and general manager, Americas, for Hitachi Data Systems, a $2.5-billion subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd. In that capacity, he served as a key member of the executive team leading operations in North and South America. Overall, he has more than 20 years of sales experience in the IT industry.

“We are delighted to welcome Curt as the newest member of the Pivot3 executive team,” Fernander said. “Curt’s experience, industry expertise and leadership in strategic account sales, channel development and team building are exemplary and position Pivot3 to more than double its sales year after year.”
