Wireless Solutions Provider Rajant Taps Scott Shirer to Oversee Customer Support Team

Rajant Corporation, the pioneer of kinetic mesh networks and provider of pervasive, multi-frequency wireless solutions, has announced the addition of Scott Shirer to oversee the company’s newly created customer support team.

Shirer joins Rajant after spending the past 17 years with Tucson, Ariz.-based Modular Mining Systems, where he most recently served as Autonomous Haulage QA Manager. He has more than fifteen years of experience with test engineering – testing embedded hardware/software products using manual and automated test tools.

“As the number and complexity of our customer deployments escalates, we’ve identified the need for a dedicated team to support these initiatives,” commented Rajant CEO Bob Schena. “Scott’s experience in the mining industry and familiarity with the communications requirements of such industries will translate into real value for our clients, and we are thrilled to add him to our team.”

In Shirer’s most recent role, he managed a team of more than fifteen software and hardware product developers who were responsible for delivering world-class autonomous/robotic haul truck systems to the mining industry. Additionally, Shirer conducted quality audits of the project development processes, and audited the product introduction team’s deployment effort, and issued corrective action reports to provide continuous improvement to the processes.

Shirer also served as the global support supervisor, where he implemented a customer help desk for Modular Mining Systems’ global support organization in its regional offices and corporate headquarters. Before this appointment, Shirer served as Modular’s principal communication systems engineer, where he designed wireless networks for more than 30 mine sites.
