U.S. Air Force Awards Contract to SAIC to Support Network-Centric Operations

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) a contract to provide IT services in support of network-centric operations under the Network Centric Solutions-2 (NETCENTS-2) Enterprise Integration and Services Management (EISM) contract. The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a three-year base period of performance, two one-year options and a total contract ceiling of $460 million for all awardees, if all options are exercised.

The NETCENTS-2 contract is a follow-on to the USAF's original NETCENTS 1 contract, and will support network-centric operations by enabling the acquisition of commercial information technologies, networking equipment and services, and voice, video and data communications hardware and software. Under the EISM contract, SAIC will provide technical services to the USAF as required for tasks associated with a broad range of enterprise-level activities. SAIC will also support integration and portfolio management by providing support as needed in areas including engineering, integration, and services management. SAIC is one of six companies eligible to compete for future task orders under the contract.

"We look forward to providing technical support for a wide range of enterprise-level activities, and helping sustain the full spectrum of netcentric operations and missions," said Peter Dube, SAIC’s senior vice president and business unit general manager. "By integrating complex legacy systems into a constantly evolving information architecture, we will help the USAF continue to ensure that warfighters remain effective and efficient, as their jobs demand."
