BICSI Taps Berk-Tek's Carol Everett Oliver for Member of the Year Award

Carol Everett Oliver of  Berk-Tek is this year’s recipient of the David Blythe-University of Kentucky Distinguished Service Award at the 2011 BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service International, Inc.) winter conference in Orlando, Fla.  Oliver has been the marketing analyst with Berk-Tek for five years.

The award recognizes the volunteer spirit of BICSI members and spotlights one individual as the BICSI member of the year for outstanding efforts in promoting BICSI’s educational programs and commitment to professional development within the industry.

This award recognizes Oliver’s numerous achievements and contributions in 2010.

“Chief among these contributions has been her work promoting increased awareness and knowledge of the role structured cabling will play in the security sector,” said Todd Harpel, Berk-Tek’s director of marketing.

In addition to evaluating preliminary electronic safety and security (ESS) content, she was in the first group to pass the examination and earn her ESS accreditation. Beyond this, she has led efforts at expanding knowledge of the security sector within the BICSI community, giving numerous presentations and seminars at both the national and regional conferences, from coast to coast, including Hawaii.  She also serves as a member of BICSI’s nominating and exhibitor liaison committees.
