FLIR Systems Receives $5.6M Delivery Order From USSOCOM

FLIR Systems Inc. has received a $5.6 million delivery order for its Talon forward-looking infrared system from United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). This stabilized, lightweight, multi-sensor system will support the Long Range Ground Mobility Visual Augmentation Systems (LR-GMVAS) program and ground vehicles.

"This contract demonstrates FLIR’s success in providing outstanding infrared systems for a wide range of vehicle-based applications,” said Bill Sundermeier, president of FLIR’s government systems division. “We are pleased to be working with USSOCOM to supply these systems to support our nation's ground forces."

Following the completion of this order, FLIR will have more than 260 ground vehicles outfitted under this program. Work will be performed at FLIR's facility in North Billerica, Mass.
