Cross Match Names David Buckley as President and CEO

Cross Match Technologies Inc. has named David Buckley as the company’s president and chief executive officer.

Most recently, Buckley was the CEO of Vectronix Incorporated, a Safran Group company and provider optronics and advanced systems designed for the military and first-responders. Under his guidance, the company quickly grew from a small reseller of quality products to a full integrator of mission-critical solutions for the military. Formerly, Buckley was president and CEO of Modtech Holdings, and he also held senior leadership positions at General Electric Company and Price Waterhouse.

“Mr. Buckley has an exceptional background that will be invaluable as he leads our company through the dynamic changes in the biometrics arena and as we continue to grow our solutions business,” said Don Nickelson, chairman of the board at Cross Match. “We welcome him to Cross Match with great pleasure and anticipation.”

Before joining the private sector, Buckley served as a surface warfare officer in the U.S. Navy, as both an engineering officer and a combat systems officer. The vessels on which he served were involved in the Gulf War, Panama and counter-narcotics operations in the Caribbean.

Buckley has a bachelor’s degree from the United States Naval Academy, where he focused on optical physics, and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, where he studied operational management. Active in his local community, Buckley is a familiar speaker at various professional events throughout the country and also coaches youth football and lacrosse.
