Optex Inc. Introduces New Project Layout iPad App

Optex Inc., a manufacturer of security infrared and laser technology solutions and systems, is introducing MyOptex, a project layout application for the iPad. MyOptex allows users to take the services out of the office and onto the job site, reducing the usual turnaround time for a custom layout. With a simple interactive menu that includes all of Optex’s outdoor photobeams and passive infrared detectors, users can drag and drop to-scale detection patterns onto a satellite image of the job site.

Along with Optex sales representatives, a dealer can help an end user visualize exactly what the Optex sensors will protect on a property. The resulting layout can be e-mailed and printed out in a matter of minutes, along with an invoiced product list and quote based on what sensors were used.

“One of the problems that our customers faced was telling an anxious end-user that they would get back to them in a few days with a quote. With an iPad and MyOptex, our sales representatives can have a full layout and sample quote ready for a dealer or integrator before walking back to the customer’s office,” said Adam McGuern, Optex’s marketing manager. “We’re excited to continue to offer new and innovative ways to both improve our relationship with our customers and set ourselves apart from the competition.”
